The bride to be is a 2001 graduate of Bonita Vista High school in San Diego, CA and a 2006 graduate of National University with a degree in Education. She is currently employed by Weaver and Tidwell LLP in Dallas.

Mike and Cynthia Donahoo of Midlothian are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Alyssa Faye Donahoo, to Justin Grant Chandler of Duncanville.

The marriage of Vanessa Michelle Velez to Matthew Paul Mendoza took place on Tuesday, December 13th at Smathers Beach in Key West, Florida. The bride is the daughter of Manny and Elvia Munoz of Duncanville and Johnny and Mary Velez of Oak Cliff. The bridegroom is the son of Jesse and Sylvia Mendoza of Duncanville. Also in attendance was Vanessa's Grandmother Ms. Elizabeth G. Garza. Vanessa is a college student at El Centro and Matthew is currently employed with Smart Home Theaters. The best man was Frank Gonzales and the maid of honor was Melissa Gonzales. The couple met while Vanessa was working at Nextel Sprint. A total of 16 people attended the wedding and joined the couple on a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas on the newest Carnival Cruise Ship Magic. Since returning from their honeymoon the couple is residing in Cedar Hill.

David Edgar McKamie and Kathryn Anne Hubener (Katy) were united in marriage in a private civil ceremony on November 3, 2011 at the George L. Allen, Senior Courts Building in Dallas, Texas. Family and close friends were in attendance.

Heather Dawn Hawkins and Jonathon Paul Bryan are so very excited to annouce their
engagement. The couple was engaged on May 11th, on an amazing unforggetable cruise to
Mexico. Heather’s parents Lisa and Darin Bradley of Duncanville, Texas, along with Jonathon’s parents Sharon Bryan of Duncanville, Texas and Robert Bryan and Carla Suitor of Clinton,
Oklahama are over joyed for the newly engaged couple. Heather is employed by The Suburban Newspaper as a graphic artisit and accountant/office manager. Jonathon works for Time Warner Cable as an Installation Tech. A May wedding is planned, followed by a 7 day honeymoon in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in June.

Martin and Louise Kreis of DeSoto are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Marian Leigh, to Benito Adán Peña, son of Ben and Yolanda Peña of San Antonio. The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Duncanville High School and a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University. She received her Masters in Education from Sam Houston State University and just finished her first year teaching in Mansfield ISD. The groom-elect is a 2002 graduate of O’Connor High School in San Antonio and a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University. He received his Masters in Visualization from Texas A&M and is employed as a character technical director at Dreamworks Animation in Glendale, California. The couple will marry in August at First United Methodist Church of Duncanville.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. and Carolyn Raz of Ovilla, Texas announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Jo Raz, to Ian McGregor La Vigne, son of Mrs. Patricia La Vigne and the late Mr. Pierre La Vigne of Jacksonville, Texas. Sandra is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucille B. Ames and the late Mr. Edward H. Ames II of Cedar Hill, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Lois Raz of Canton, Texas. Ian is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Austin and Helen La Vigne of New York, the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Marion O’Brien of New York and the late step-grandmother Mrs. Blanche O’Brien of Maryland. The couple will exchange vows on July 16, 2011 at Ovilla United Methodist Church in Ovilla, Texas. Sandra is a 1996 graduate of Midlothian High School and graduated with a B. S. in Information Systems from The University of Texas at Arlington. Sandra is employed by JPMorgan Chase as a Business Analyst. Ian is a 1995 graduate of Jacksonville High School and graduated with an Associate in Electronics Technology from Tyler Junior College. He is employed by Broadcast Works! as a Radio Broadcast Engineer.

Robert H. Weaver and Betty (Mickelson) Weaver exchanged wedding vows in Seattle, Washington on April 13, 1946. There was a family get-together held Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the family home celebrating 65 years of married life.
Robert was transferred to Dallas by Sunshine Biscuits in 1954. After High School in Washington State, 3 years of Army (with a purple heart), 3 years at University of Washington, 10 years at Sunshine Biscuits and 28 years at Dixico Inc., including 5 years of night school at SMU and a Degree in Mathematics in 1962, and two years completing a 5-year correspondent school program for an Advanced Accounting Certificate from the International Accounting Society in 1964, Robert retired from Dixico, Inc. on December 31, 1985 as Vice President of “Pricing and Costing Methods”.

Dr. and Mrs. Greg Stroud of Lancaster, Texas are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Katie to Matthew Mills, son of Dr. and Mrs. Steve Mills  of Denver City, Texas. Katie is a native of Lancaster and a 2007 graduate of Ovilla Christian School. Katie will graduate from Dallas Baptist University in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Matthew is a 2007 graduate of Denver City High School and is currently serving in the United States Navy, stationed in Pensacola, Florida. The couple are planning a summer wedding.
