The Zula B. Wylie Public Library hosted a Kwanzaa Celebration featuring Fruit for the Soul Artisans on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Community members were invited to discover Kwanzaa and its traditions through dance, storytelling, poetry, and music! Children and adults alike were enthralled by the vivid narrative of Rhonda Haugabook, director and founder of Fruit for the Soul Artisans, of Cedar Hill, TX. Rhonda’s passionate symbolic storytelling facilitated understanding for this cultural holiday and helped everyone learn about the traditional symbols and the 7 principles of Kwanzaa. Audience members had the delightful opportunity to enjoy traditional Kwanzaa foods such as greens, yams, peanuts, and African rooibos tea! The Zula B. Wylie Public Library is located at 225 Cedar Street in Cedar Hill, Texas.
