The candidate filing and voting dates have been set for the 2012 DeSoto Independent School District's Board of Trustee election. The Board election will be held jointly with other area elections on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Candidate filing dates for the DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees election will be
February 6 - March 5.

Positions up for election this year are:
Place 6 - incumbent
Warren Seay, Jr.
Place 7 — incumbent
Donald Gant

Elected board members in all three places will serve three-year terms.
Interested candidates may pick up and submit a candidate packet at the DeSoto Instructional Support Center - Education Center at 200 E. Belt Line Road, during office hours from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (4 p.m. on Fridays) from February 6 - March 5.
Early voting for the DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees election will occur Monday, April 30 through Tuesday, May 8. Voters may cast their ballot at any location in Dallas Country including the DeSoto Library at Town Center during early voting.
Polls will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Election Day, Saturday, May 12.
