The Duncanville Fieldhouse this past weekend hosted the Dallas Junior Wheelchair Mavericks Home Tournament for youth wheelchair basketball. Elaine Parham, an event organizer with the Dallas Junior Mavericks said the Fieldhouse was the perfect location for the tournament.
With 8 teams participating in the tournament from as far away as Denver, Kansas City, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Houston, Parham noted that the additional space was just what their growing, competitive tournament needed.

“The tournaments are great for the players as it provides them with an opportunity to play a sport competitively like their able-body peers and learn teamwork and discipline,” said Parham. “Additionally, we have some players that have gone on to play wheelchair basketball in college.”

What you did for the athletes of the KC Pioneer Team was extraordinary, Allen. Neither of us could quit thinking how nice it was for you to take a personal interest in making sure we had what we needed…Honey Do list or not, you did go out of your way – we, the parents, and the athletes really did appreciate the sandwiches being made, delivered and available in a way that let them relax and get ready for the next 2 games. It was also obvious that you understand what is important in business -- giving the best service possible. It meant a lot to Mary Anne and I to be able to stay and watch the kids play – Duncanville is a top notch community that we would be glad to come back to!
