Rodney Donald Jackson, age 82 of Core Rd., Dunn of the Plainview Community died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.
Mr. Jackson was born on August 26, 1929 in Sampson County to the late Raiford Junior & Claudia Core Jackson. Rodney was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from Civil Service from Pope Air Force Base with around 20 Years of Service, He then went to work at Campbell University in the carpentry department. He was retired from the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Lee's Chapel Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor & friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
    Preceded in death by his Stepmother, Clyda T. Jackson, two Brothers, Bill Jackson & Rudell Jackson and three Sisters, Eris J. Butler, Edith J. DuBose & Linda J. McLeod.
    Survived by his Wife: Frances B. Jackson of the home. 2 Daughters: Lisa J. Bradley & (husband) Darin of Duncanville, Texas; Carol J. Stephenson & (husband) Tim of Dunn, NC
Grandchildren: Heather Hawkins & (Fiancee') Jonathon Bryan, Andrew Hawkins & Josh Stephenson. Brothers: Nelson Jackson & (wife) Sally of Erwin, NC; Robert Jackson & (wife) Rosemary of Dunn, NC
    The Family received friends at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral service was held at Lee’s Chapel Church Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00am, followed by burial in Williford Cemetery.
