David McKamie & Kathryn Hubener
David Edgar McKamie and Kathryn Anne Hubener (Katy) were united in marriage in a private civil ceremony on November 3, 2011 at the George L. Allen, Senior Courts Building in Dallas, Texas. Family and close friends were in attendance.
A love of politics and cheesecake brought the two together. The couple met during the 2008 President election when they were supporters of Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. Both were delegates to the Texas Democratic State Convention.
Two years later, McKamie pledged to bring Hubener a cheesecake and then he sent her tulips for Valentine’s Day. Their love of politics, strong friendship, and kindness for each other evolved into love and respect.
The groom is the son of the late Edgar Moran McKamie and the late Lura Snowden McKamie of Waco, Texas. He is brother to William Michael McKamie (Mick) of San Antonio, Texas, and father of David Kyle McKamie (Kyle) of Denton, Texas.
McKamie is a graduate of Richfield High School and the University of Texas and lives in Coppell, Texas. He was granted a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in statistics. He is employed with Hubbell Wiring Devices as a Territory Manager.
The bride is the daughter of the late Gerald Alan Hubener (Jerry) and Ann Williams Hubener of Duncanville, Texas. She is sister to the James Todd Hubener (Jim), granddaughter of the late Sidney Carol Hubener of Shreveport, Louisiana, the late Maxine Taylor Hubener of Shreveport, Louisiana, the late James Henry Williams of Seminole, Texas and Margaret McCarthy Williams of Duncanville, Texas.
Hubener is a graduate of Duncanville High School, Texas Tech University and Claremont Graduate University. She was granted a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. She is a Justice of the Peace in Dallas County.
Ann Hubener, mother of the bride, served as maid of honor and David Kyle McKamie (Kyle), son of the groom, served as the best man. The bride wore a classic cream suit and the groom wore his clan’s tartan kilt in honor of his Scottish heritage. Judge Cass Callaway, a close friend, officiated.
The couple will reside in Duncanville, Texas.
